Help is on every page of Biddable, and a person is a message away.
What it is
- Help in the app: the ? at the top of every page opens the help for that page, with a search across every topic and the full list.
- Biddie answers "how do I…?" from the same help, in the same words. Asking her never counts as a bid.
- The user guide is the same help as a web guide at biddable.ae/guide and as a PDF you can print or pass on, at biddable.ae/guide/biddable-user-guide.pdf.
- A person: your Biddable contact is who to ask about your rules, your set-up switches, your plan, an export or a deletion. Write to hello@biddable.ae and one of us will answer.
How to use it
- Press ? on the page you are on. The topic for that page opens first; search or the list takes you to any other.
- Ask Biddie in plain words: "how do I invite someone?", "what counts as a bid?", "how do I record a call?" She answers from the help and says where to press.
- For anything the help does not answer, email hello@biddable.ae. Say which space and which bid you mean, and what you expected to happen. Nobody at Biddable can see inside your space, so describe what you see.
- If you want Biddable support to look at something inside your space, an owner allows support in under Account, Support access for 24 hours, 72 hours or 7 days, and can end it at any time. Every look is in your access log (see Your data and security).
Good to know
- Nothing in the help needs a connection: it is built into the app.
- Help describes what the product does today. Where a page or a switch is behind a setting or a plan, the help says so.
- When something goes wrong in the app, the page says so and offers Reload; the error is recorded for us without your documents.
- A run that fails says so on the bid, in plain words, and can be started again. Nothing is counted for a build that did no work.
Common questions
Is there a phone number?
Email is the one channel: hello@biddable.ae. We answer every message. Your Biddable contact will say how else they can be reached.
Can you log in and fix it for me?
Only with an owner's say-so. Allow support in under Account, Support access, for as long as you choose; you are emailed when something is first opened and when the access ends, and the access log shows every look.
Where is the user guide for my team?
At biddable.ae/guide, and as a PDF at biddable.ae/guide/biddable-user-guide.pdf. The same help is in the app for every member, under the ? on any page.
Help in the app
Open the help for the page you are on, search every topic, and follow one task at a time.
- Who can use it
- Everyone
- Where it is
- The ? at the top of every page; Help in the rail on a wide screen; Help in the palette (Ctrl+K, or Cmd+K on a Mac)
- In
- The web app, and the phone, tablet and desktop app
What it does
The help is built into Biddable. The ? at the top of a page opens it on the topic for that page, with a search across every topic and the full list. Each topic lists its tasks one at a time, each with who can use it, where it is and which apps have it.
Step by step
- Press ? at the top of the page you are on. The help opens on that page's topic.
- If more than one topic belongs to the page, pick another under "For this page:".
- Under "Step by step, one thing at a time", press a task to read just that one.
- To find something else, type in Search the help…. Matching topics and tasks are listed as you type.
- Press ‹ All topics for the full list, and ✕ (or Esc in a browser) to close.
What you see
- A topic: its title and summary, Watch the video where there is one, its tasks, then the text and "Other topics".
- A task: "Who can use it", "Where it is" and "In" (which apps), Watch the clip where there is one, the steps, then "More in" the topic.
- While searching: the number of matches, or "Nothing matches those words" with "Try another word, or pick a topic from the list."
Good to know
- On a wide screen the rail also has Help. In the web app, and the desktop app, Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) opens the palette; choose Help there.
- The sign-in page has a Help link too.
- The help needs no connection: it comes with the app. The videos open from the web.
- Biddie answers "how do I…?" questions from the same help, in the same words.
- The help describes what the product does today, and says when something depends on your role, a setting or your plan.
- The same help is at biddable.ae/guide, and as a PDF to print or pass on.
Common questions
The help opened on the wrong topic.
It opens on the first topic for the page you were on. Use "For this page:", the search or ‹ All topics to move.
When something goes wrong
What the app shows after an unexpected error or a run that did not finish, and what to do next.
- Who can use it
- Everyone
- Where it is
- The error page, with Reload; a run's line on a bid
- In
- The web app, and the phone, tablet and desktop app
No clip for this one: Shown only after an unexpected error, which cannot be made to happen on purpose without breaking the product.
What it does
If a page fails to draw, Biddable shows an error page instead of a blank window; nothing is lost and the error is recorded for us. If a run stops before it finishes, the bid says so and you can start it again.
Step by step
- On the error page, press Reload in the web app. In the phone, tablet and desktop app, go back and try again.
- If a run's line on the bid says DID NOT FINISH, start the same step again from the bid. In the Build chat, press Resend under your message, or Run again under a build that failed.
- If a message says "Something went wrong on the server. Quote reference" and a short code, try once more; if it keeps happening, send that code to your Biddable contact.
- When you write to us, say which space and which bid, what you pressed, and what you expected to happen.
What you see
- The error page: "Biddable hit an error." and "The server is still running and nothing is lost. The error has been logged. Reload to carry on.", with the error's details underneath. In the phone, tablet and desktop app the last line reads "Go back and try again."
- On a bid, the run's line reads WORKING, then DONE, DID NOT FINISH, STOPPED or WAITING FOR YOU.
- In the Build chat, a message whose run failed reads "Sent · the run failed", with Resend and "It failed. Send it again as it is." A failed build shows Run again and "It failed. Start it again."
Good to know
- The error report carries the error and the page it happened on, not your documents.
- A build that failed before any work was done does not count against your plan.
- Nobody at Biddable can see inside your space unless an owner allows support in, so describe what you see, or have an owner allow support access for a time.
- Write to hello@biddable.ae for anything the help does not answer.
Common questions
Did I lose my work?
No. Your documents and conversations are kept on the server. Reloading, or going back, picks up where you were.
This page is the same help that sits behind the ? on every page of the app. Something it does not answer? Email hello@biddable.ae.
